- Firstly, open the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) on your phone. Then, search for the “Web Video Caster” app and download it.
- Launch that pp.
- In the app, you can see a native web browser. So, use it to enter the URL for DISH Anywhere.
- After that, tap on the “Cast” option at the top of the app. There will be a list of available devices for casting on the screen. You just need to choose your Roku device.
- Next, Roku will guide you to install the DISH Anywhere app right on your device.
- Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
- Then, return to the Web Video Caster app. The screen should start loading the DISH Anywhere content.
- Now, you can use your phone to cast that content to the Roku device.
Use the Web Video Caster app
You can also use your computer to get DISH Anywhere to your Roku. Yet, this method only works for Windows. The steps are as follows:
- Firstly, access “Settings” on your Roku device.
- Choose “System” -> “Screen mirroring” -> “Always on.” This process will activate the screen mirroring feature on your Roku.
- Ensure your Roku and PC connect to the same Wi-Fi network.
- On your computer, click on the notifications icon at the lower right corner of the desktop taskbar.
- Then, choose to connect your computer to a wireless display. This step will initiate the screen mirroring process.
- Windows will start scanning for available wireless displays. When your Roku device appears in the list, click “Connect.”
- After that, your Roku device can display what’s on the PC.
- Now, when you open the DISH Anywhere app on your PC, you can start streaming content.
Activate the screen mirroring feature on Roku
You can also use Chrome to connect your Roku to DISH on your Mac and Windows. Just take these steps:
- Firstly, connect your computer (MAC or PC) to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Then, open the Chrome browser on your computer and access the DISH Anywhere website.
- Tap on the three-dotted button to open the Chrome settings menu.
- From the dropdown menu, choose “Cast.” Make sure that the browser is not in the “Incognito Mode.”
- After that, the cast menu will display a list of devices to connect. So wait for your Roku device to appear and choose it.
- Now, the content from your browser will display on your Roku.
